We have had some expressions of interest to take part in the next roll-out of the mentoring program. And we hope to see our mentees become mentors in future mentoring programs.
We found that it was hard for our staff to connect and network across our large organization. These interactions are important for us as we value the learnings and guidance we can provide each other in order to develop. Throughout the years, we knew we had some mentoring activities occurring in pockets of the organisation, however there was nothing consistent and group-wide.
The program has been widely embraced since its conception by organisational leaders and staff.
To help prepare for our program, approximately 180 Navitas mentors attended tailored mentoring training, facilitated by Women & Leadership Australia.
99% of participants have been matched, with 132 mentoring connections made across our organisation.
After almost a month of creating our matches, we have many 5-star ratings and the feedback provided indicates that participants are enjoying their discussions and still learning about their mentors/mentees.
The positive outcomes reflect the fantastic training our mentors received from Women & Leadership Australia before the program. It laid a foundation to ensure we had the knowledge, skills and encouragement to embark on our mentoring relationships without fear of failure.
Some participants have also publicly shared on LinkedIn their involvement in the program.
Mentorloop is such an easy platform to use. The Smart Matching really cuts down the time it takes to pair participants. The chat option with the Program Coordinator allows us to help participants quickly and I like the casual, relaxed style of communication used in the Nudges. There’s such a large and vast range of content in the Help Hub and it’s great to have all these resources if you feel stuck.
We plan to continue to promote the program internally and externally by celebrating the strong connections made across the organisation.
The Mentorloop Sentiment feedback will be regularly reviewed, and learnings will be shared amongst the program team to improve how we roll this out in the future.
We have had some expressions of interest to take part in the next roll-out of the mentoring program and we hope to see our mentees become mentors in future mentoring programs.
We’re eager to see if the program itself might be a tool for organisational leadership development during workforce and career planning.

What Role Does Equity and Equality Play in Your Mentoring Program?
The right mentoring program should level the playing field to empower entire cohorts of people: workplaces, member associations, social groups and educational institutions. Equality should be a cherished value so that every individual can thrive—whoever they are, whatever their background, however they worship or whomever they love. But we can’t arrive at equality without it’s often forgotten partner, equity.
What does a Mentoring Program Coordinator do?
Being a Mentoring Program Coordinator is an incredibly rewarding experience that positively impacts the lives of many. And while mentoring programs don’t fully run themselves (even though Mentorloop can do a great deal of the heavy lifting!), they do require a point of contact that can steer the program in the right direction for the organisation that is running one.
