Welcome to the DPC/DTF & ESC Mentoring Program
This program, delivered by DPC, DTF and ESC is designed to give you the opportunity to connect with other employees and expand your professional network within the Victorian Public Service (VPS) via a mutually beneficial mentoring partnership. For mentees this is an opportunity to learn, develop, and shape your career through the real-world experience of a helpful mentor. For mentors, this is an opportunity to give back, further develop your leadership skills and make a valuable contribution to the culture of the Victorian Public Service.
We strongly encourage you to consider participating as a mentor or mentee – or both!
“A good mentor helps you to walk in your own shoes, even if you start out just wanting to walk in theirs.”
— Li Cunxin, author of autobiography Mao's Last Dancer
If you have already set up your profile and have an account, you can log into Mentorloop below.
Create your mentoring profile by clicking join the mentoring program.
Your People & Culture team will manage the matching process and once finalised email you an invitation to join the program.
You can begin communicating with your mentor or mentee!
How does matching work?
Matching is facilitated by the People & Culture team, using the information you provide in your mentoring profile. We will communicate with you once this process is complete.
Will there be a launch event for the mentoring program?
Yes, People & Culture will arrange a launch session for those looking for some further guidance on how to get the best out of the mentoring program. This event will also provide an informal setting to meet your mentor/mentee, and an opportunity to network with others in the program
What is Mentorloop and how will it help me?
- Mentorloop connects mentors and mentees and provides them with support and a platform to communicate.
- Mentorloop will help match you with a mentor/mentee whose location/skills/background is complimentary to your own.
- You have access to a resource hub full of helpful hints, tips and tools, so that you get the most from the relationship when you need it.
- To help you, Mentorloop will store correspondence relevant to your mentoring relationship in your Mentor/Mentee ‘Loop’ for easy reference.
What are the time requirements?
You can discuss with your mentoring partner how often you’d like to catch up; however, we recommend a quick coffee catch up / meeting at least once every 4 to 6 weeks to get the full benefits of mentorship.
