Welcome to Arup Mentoring
Mentoring at Arup is designed to give you the opportunity to connect with others in the Australasian region, to broaden your networks, learn and share more, and continue to develop your skills and abilities. For mentees – this is an opportunity to learn, develop, and shape your own career through the real-world experience of a helpful mentor. For mentors – this is an opportunity to give back, share your skills and experiences, and continue your own and other’s development.
“Colleagues are a wonderful thing – but mentors, that’s where the real work gets done.” — Junot Diaz
If you have already set up your profile and have an account, you can log into Mentorloop below.
Step 1 – Sign-up
Click the link to fill out the recruitment form to be a part of Arup Mentoring – either as a mentor or a mentee, or both!
Step 2 – Matching
In three weeks (after sign-up phase), you’ll receive an invitation to create your account. You can then set a password and ’find your match’ amongst the available mentors and mentees.
Step 3 – Initiation
Use the platform to setup your first meeting, where you can determine your goals in concert with the resources available at your disposal.
What is Mentorloop and how will it help me?
- Mentorloop is a platform which helps Arup to connect mentors and mentees and provides them a place to communicate.
- Mentorloop will help Arup match you with a mentor/mentee who has a complimentary location/skills/background to you.
- You have access to a resource hub full of helpful hints, tips and tools, so that you get the most from the relationship when you need it.
- To help you, Mentorloop will store correspondence relevant to your mentoring relationship in your Mentor/Mentee ‘Loop’ for easy reference.
How does matching work?
This is a self-matching platform, so the information you provide in the profile form allows other employees to browse through and read in order to select their match.
Once you are in the platform, you can reach out and request a match with anyone else in Arup Mentoring.
If I’m a mentor, can I request my own mentee?
Yes, that is fine, we expect mentees to drive the relationship but the platform has the capability to empower mentors to make the match too.
How can I stop receiving too many requests from mentors or mentees?
You can mark your profile as unavailable should you wish to stop receiving mentoring requests.
To do so, click Your Account in the bottom left, then toggle your availability to Unavailable.
Please note – ‘My Match’ is the place where mentees and mentors request matches.
How much time do I need to devote to Arup Mentoring?
You can discuss with your mentoring partner how often you’d like to catch up; however, we recommend a quick coffee catch up / meeting at least once every 4 to 6 weeks to get the full benefits of mentorship.
