I'm proud to be a part of the award-winning, St Andrew's College Pre-Tertiary Mentoring Program

With special thanks to Program Coordinators,
Minami Takahashi and Kameka Button

As a Year 12 student, navigating the steps beyond secondary school can be exciting, daunting and overwhelming all at once.

The St Andrew’s College’s Pre-Tertiary Mentoring Program is designed to help high school students navigate their final year of school (HSC), as well as transition to university life. Mentors are all current university students who have volunteered their time to help high school students achieve their academic and life goals.

There is a significant focus on regional and rural engagement in the Program – most mentees are from a government school, or from a rural area where they have limited opportunity accessing support. The impact our student volunteers have made over the past three years has been tremendous – the program’s student mentors have helped high school students finish their HSC exams, access tertiary education and pursue their dream degrees.

"St Andrew’s College has always been – and will remain – committed to providing young adults, whether at school or university, with educational opportunities that will enrich their lives.

We are also in a unique position to give back: our students, who are familiar with the strengths of peer-to-peer learning, have a fervent desire to give back to the community.

We have been delighted to be able to facilitate the Mentoring Program for three years in a row, and would like to thank all of our student mentors who are committed to helping Year 12 students achieve their high school and university goals.”
